About

The Alumni Summer Fellowship Program is designed to allow current Saint Mary’s College of California undergraduate students the opportunity to experience faith, service, and community in the example of Saint John Baptist de La Salle.  This is an immersion living/learning program designed to advance each student’s professional development, leadership development, and growing awareness of important social issues.  The Alumni Summer Fellow will be positively changed through learning and serving and as a result become agents for positive social change. This program is sponsored by the SMC Alumni Association and directed by the Catholic Institute for Lasallian Social Action CILSA at Saint Mary’s College of California

Julie Cozzetto (’13) will be serving with Daybreak Incorporated in Palmer, Alaska which provides services for adults with developmental disabilities so that that they can live independently. Clients or consumers of Daybreak Mental Health Service Coordination are given the power, hope, choice and responsibility for their own recovery. The philosophy of Daybreak is to promote consumer or client choice and responsibility. Daybreak and its service coordinators work through residential, legal and other services to serve their consumers.
